![]() ![]() Dedicated SQL Pool is OLAP based, not OLTP This is more of list of things that got me my best bang for my buck.ġ. This is not a comprehensive list of the capabilities or best practices for Azure Dedicated SQL Pool. I wanted to share my experiences and highlight the things that I found most valuable during the process. It wasn’t all smooth-sailing but it was also much easier than I expected it to be and that’s coming from someone who is merely proficient in SQL Server, no where near DBA level. ![]() It’s a fairly large but mostly dimensionless data set with over 5 billion rows of Point of Sale data. I think I can now officially call it a “success” I designed and built a SQL Synapse data warehouse (which is now just called Dedicated SQL Pool) in Azure for one of my clients and it’s working great (** knocks on wood**).
